Abstract
This topic aims to present specific elements of contemporary social discourses of science, depending on the format in which the audience receives the messages. We will expose all the genres and communicative formats through which scientific content is disseminated through all media, social networks, platforms, and advertising. However, until reaching all these channels, scientific information has been previously treated by the different research teams or scientific institutions to reach the general audience. Evaluating what kind of information and how it is treated from its origin until it becomes a social icon or popular science will be one of the priority objectives of this topic. Traditional journalistic genres are continuously hybridised; this implies that science discourses reach the public through formats that combine information, entertainment, education, and fiction. Likewise, the audience is receiving a large amount of information on various scientific topics, through different media and platforms, without, in most cases, being processed, contextualised, or rigorously analysed.
