Manifestaciones trombóticas en la enfermedad de Behcet: Relación con alteraciones de la vía de la proteína C, alteraciones hemorreológicas y defectos trombofilicos.

Behçets disease (BD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder in which thrombosis occurs in about 30% of patients. We evaluate Behcet disease characteristics in the Valencia Community and the thrombotic mechanisms in these disease. Thrombophilic defects, hyperhomocysteinemia, acquired thrombophilic risk factors, antithrombin, protein C and protein S levels, factor V Leiden, the prothrombin G20210A mutation, the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase C677T polymorphism, and acquired thrombophilic risk factors, including anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, and serum homocysteine levels were evaluated. By the other hand hemorheologic parameters were evaluated. Our results recommend PTG20210A, FV Leiden and APC levels evaluation in patients with Behcet´s disease in order to apply prophylactic treatments in case of thrombotic risk situations.
