Deciding whether an injury occurred before or after death is undoubtedly very relevant and has indisputable consequences from all points of view. It is a matter that has been trying to be resolved since ancient times and currently, although advanced technology is available, it continues to be the workhorse of different research groups. In this work, after an introduction and background, some of the contributions that try to answer the interesting question are gathered and discussed.
