Abstract
Peripecias de las partes del padre-de-la-novia y de la niña-de-sus-ojos en la literatura española, desde sus orígenes hasta finales del siglo de oro Vicissitudes of the parts of the father-of-the-bride and the apple of his eye in Spanish Literature, from its origins to the end of its Golden Age I am the stories I tell. The stories other tell me about the world. The stories that tell me, which tell what I am. Such stories have made the parts of the father, of the daughter. In order to tell the story of those stories I use the Encyclopedic model. Since we play these parts in one thousand and one ways, the book which describes them must perforce be unbound. In the Prelude and in the Epilogue I investigate the daughter, and the father, as parts. The parts (which are obediential) of the man and the woman, of the father and the daughter, subject us, separating us from the wonderful creature that we were once upon a time, and who could have been anything, wanted anything. By playing them we lose a lot: we get lost. I will analyse how these parts have been built and instituted, naturalized, authorized, by hiding their origins, the history of its fabrication. Spanish Literature, from its origins to the end of its Golden Age, cannot be understood without analising what happens between fathers and daughters, which impregnates it in nearly all its genres. It is in the marrow of many of its most important texts, and makes the skeleton of others. But I also examine myths, folklore, other literatures, History, the works of the fathers of Ethics, or Moral Philosophy, of Psychoanalysis, of Anthropology, the desobedient, betraying, troublemaking readings and writings of their daughters.
