No one questions the wide diffusion and influence of Giovan Battista Giraldi Cinthio's works in Europe (not only of his writings about literary theory, but also of his dramatic and narrative works). For this reason, some critics have considered him as a 'gentiluomo ferrarese europeo'. In this article we will trace and analyse Giraldi's impact in Europe.
