El encuadre de los temas de salud: cobertura en prensa escrita del daño cerebral adquirido

This paper analyzes the framing of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in news published by El País, El Mundo and La Vanguardia between 2010 and 2013. After a preliminary lexical search, news were selected when its topic was associated with ABI, both as a central or secondary theme. Categories related with discursive framing were analyzed. Results of this analysis show the limited presence of ABI in the mainstream press, which does not correspond to its impact on our society, and, that if present, the content refers mainly to secondary issues (prevention, care needs and quality of life), and a special magnification of technological advances
