- No.m direu que lo dit Sèneca sia propheta ne patriarcha, qui palen figurativament: Antoni Canals i El De providència(1993) Martínez, TomásThe author argues that in his version of Séneca's De providentia, as indeed in other of his versions, Canals does not show any evidence of having assimilated the ideological tenets of the Humanism and the Renaissance. On the contrary: for him classical sources are merely used as means to underline an orthodox and religious discourse.
- La presència del Regne de València en el món europeu del renaixement(1993) Batllori, MiguelThe author stresses the importance of the Borja family (mainly referring to the popes Calixto III and Alexandre VI) in the Italian as well as the European cultural and political context of the second half of the xvth century, and the beginning of the xvith century.
- L'escrivania municipal de València en els segles XIV i XV: Notes i documents(1993) Rubio Vela, AgustínThe influence of the Royal Chancellery, based in Barcelona, on the creation and evolution, from the xivth c. onwards, of a model of Catalan prose has already been convincingly established. This article offers new evidence of a parallel role played by some professional scribes of Valencia's town Council.
- Una versió valenciana quatrecentista desconeguda de la Obsidionis Rhodie de Guillaume Caoursin(1993) Hauf, Albert G. (Albert Guillem), 1938-This is a reconstruction of the only extant Catalan versión of Guillaume Caoursin's Obsidionis Rhodie descriptio, based on the passages of this interesting text assimiled by Joan Esteve in his Liber elegantiarum.
- Notes d'un paleògraf a propòsit del matritensis 9750 de la Biblioteca Nacional (Curial e Güelfa)(1993) Gimeno Blay, Francisco M.The thesis of Jaume Riera i Sans (1991), pretending that the text of the novel Curial e Giielfa contained in this ms. of Madrid's national Library was a modern forgery, kindled a lively controversy. After a thorough study of the handwriting, with special reference to the capital letters, Prof. Gimeno's reaches the conclusion that without the slighest possible doubt this ms. was written during the xvth century.
- El Ms.212 der la BUV i les cròniques de Joan I, Martí l'Humà i Ferran I(1993) Escartí, Vicent JosepAs indicated by the title, this is an edition of the three Chronicles mentioned above, prepared on the basis of a ms. extant in the Library of the University of Valencia not taken into account in the previous, very limited, edition by Frederic P. Verrié (1950 i 1951), of the Chronicles of Joan I and Martí l'Humà. The present editor relates the text he publishes to the context of the Valentian ms.
- Sobre una etiqueta historiogràfica de la literatura catalana(1993) Ferrando Francés, AntoniThe expression «valenciana prosa» , used from the XVth century onwards by writers like Roís de Corella, Miquel Peres, Bernardí de Vallmanya, and others, has been interpreted in different and sometimes contradictory ways (Rubió i Lluch, Nicolau d'Olwer, Riquer, Fuster, Coromines, etc). The author of this article considers it to be a mere way of outlining the fact that a given text was written in «lengua valenciana», this is to say in the modality of the Catalan Language used in Valencia, and that does not therefore relate to any specific literary style.
