- La transformación ética de la racionalidad económica en Amartya Sen. Una recuperación de Adam Smith(2006) Pedrajas Herrero, MartaThe aim of this article is to show the necessity of includying ethic elements in the economic rationality, that goes beyond the self-interest and egoism. From a critic of the homo oeconomicus and an exposition of the deficiencies of the egoist rationality, we see how the incorporation of ethic elements is a reflection of the real and rational behaviour of the individuals. Nowadays, Amartya Sen is the one who mainly proposes this theory, but it has in its basis the ethical recuperation of the Adam Smith's work. Finally, we show how the sympathy and commitment are two of the elements of this ethical rationality, but also the values like the confidence or loyalty, which goes beyond a simple economic model to become a theory of social justice.
- Actualidad de los humanismos en economía ética y bioética(2006) Conill Sancho, JesúsThe aim of this contribution is to defend a new humanism for the business ethics and bioethics in the 21st Century. This proposal is based in two traditions of modern humanism: the Scottish (Adam Smith) and the German (Kant). The first one is characterized by the incorporation of feelings to the economic activity; and the second one represents the point of view of moral universalism, which considers: human being as an end itself and human dignity as an unconditional value.
- El "giro morfológico": la forma, condición del sentido(2006) Pérez Herranz, Fernando MiguelThis paper starts from the philosophical contradiction that we can call 'apory of logical fundament'. Logic appears, on the one side, as having the metaphysical pretensions of universality and wholeness and, on the other side, as having local efficiency in computers' concrete world. Several alternatives have tried to go over this apory, from alogical philosophies to logic amplifying attempts. René Thom's ontology changes the terms of the question and, instead of looking for the fundament in logic, he does so in topology. His slogan is: 'We have to found, not geometry in logic, but logic in geometry'. The fundamental ontological implication of this morphologic change is to find the sense condition, which opens the door to Aesthetic studies or to the role played by perception in argumentation', questions of our time.
- Seis consideraciones en favor de la estética natural(2006) Calle, Román de laIn honour of the prof. Mikel Dufrenne a series of reflections formulated about the aesthetic of nature: relations between natural aesthetic and artistic aesthetic; in the field of the artificial and in the field of the natural; clarification about aesthetic object, artistic object and natural object; destruction and aesthetization of nature.
- Significado y valor: la crítica pragmatista al emotivismo(2006) Faerna García-Bermejo, Angel ManuelPragmatism and Logical Positivism constitute different traditions in philosophy, though for a period of time they shared some views and had intellectual and social interests in common. John Dewey, in particular, collaborated to the International Encyclopedia of Unified Science promoted by Carnap, Neurath, and other positivists. In this relationship, the topic of values were the main issue. For the positivist party, emotivism represented the 'official doctrine' regarding ethical (or, in general, evaluative) sentences; whereas for Dewey value judgements had full, genuine empirical meaning. Here we examine Dewey's crticism of emotivism as represented by its best known theorist, Charles L. Stevenson, trying to assess the real scope of the differences between positivist and pragmatist traditions.
- La "Hermenéutica del sí" de Paul Ricoeur. Entre Descartes y Nietzsche(2006) Nájera Pérez, ElenaThis paper analyses P. Ricoeur's proposal about personal identity, entitled hermeneutics of the self, which aims to fill a halfway philosophical place between Descartes and Nietzsche. The author of Soimême comme un autre offers a narrative solution that will be critically considered according to the relation that the hermeneutics of the self establishes between philosophy and literature.
- Dificultats de l'optimisme (o sobre dues vacil.lacions de Leibniz)(2006) Olesti, JosepThe article analyzes the Leibnizian theory of optimism in order to assess the role played by two vacillations and their interaction: the first is concerned with what form the history of the best of the possible worlds must have; the second, with the question of apocatastasis. It concludes that both vacillations are related and the way one is solved determines how the other has to be solved.
- Teoria de l'argumentació i pràctica de l'argumentació(2006) Cattani, AdelinoThe problematic relationship between theory and practice is the core of this paper, with special regard to rhetoric as theory (as an explicative system supported by a rhetorician, that is a procedure of proof) and rhetoric as practice (as an operative system applied by an orator, that is a strategy of persuasion). The practice of argumentation is often bad from the cognitive, methodological, ethical and social point of view, but the theory of argumentation is valuable. And for philosophy, the argumentation, the instrument of rhetoric, is the only possible procedure of proof.
- La libertad en el principio de la doctrina de la ciencia de Fichte(2006) Ramos Valera, ManuelAfter the overcoming of Hegel's influential interpretatation, fichtean philosopy of Jena can be considered directly as the philosophy of freedom. In fact, freedom is in the beginning (Anfang) of the 'Theory of Science' (Wissenschaftslehre), it is its principle (Prinzip) and the unconditioned ground (Grund) of the theoretical and practical experience too. This philosophy of freedom wants to overcome Kant's transcendental Idealism.
- Assaig d'una teoria (semi-)formal de les nacions(2006) Moulines, Carlos UlisesAn appropriate combination of Quine's ontology and Frege's semantics is useful to emphasize the empirical entities 'ethnic group' and 'nation' expressed through an axiomatic system. If 'cultural diversity' is taken as a primitive because it is good ethically and it is beautiful esthetically, then 'internationalist nationalism' is the correct order of human society from a political point of view.
