Finding new ways to work on sensitive topics in Social Science Didactics, like the one proposed, is both a challenge and a teaching need, especially in contexts such as the one selected (Education for Citizenship). That is why a study was designed to check whether ICT can be used positively in the presentation, debate and analysis of arguments in formal areas, as well as to achieve a greater degree of individual expression of personal positions. Although it is necessary to develop more studies in this line, the results of the experience have allowed to raise and discuss the contents of the subject with a degree of participation and with very promising analytical possibilities. Additionally, new perspectives such as the analysis of subgroups or the relationship with the temporal structure of the worked contents have been included.

The new technologies have penetrated deeply into Education. We have analyzed the perception of students and teachers on the use of tablets as teaching sciences tools, in a Secondary and High School where each student is provided with an iPad. Both students and teachers consider that the highest performance of the iPad is achieved in subjects related to life sciences. However, most teachers recognize that they do not take advantage of all the iPad resources. We discuss why technology does not guarantee an improvement in the quality of scientific education without an adequate training of teachers and some didactic strategies to implement its suitable use in the classrooms.

Reflexiones acerca de la Salud Ambiental
(2019) Carrasquer Zamora, José; Ponz Miranda, Adrián; Carrasquer Álvarez, Beatriz; Álvarez Sevilla, María Victoria
The concepts of health and environment are commonly used in various social and scientific fields. That makes their significance very broad and with unclear limits in many cases. This paper provides diverse approaches in which these limits are set. Those aspects whose use should be extended or those which should be more emphasized have been specified as well. In this respect, the educational field takes importance. In spite of the efforts in recent decades, results do not seem to be as expected. It is considered that approaches focused on natural aspects without taking into account others such as social sustainability should be redirected.

The proclamation of the Second Republic implied important reforms in the field of education in Spain. But the briefness of the Republican experience prevented the complete overcoming of the traditional educational model. Certainly, there was an increase in the number of textbooks affiliated to progressive historiography, in a phenomenon violently blocked by war and dictatorship. In this article the progressive textbooks of Eladio García Martínez and Modesto Medina Bravo, and that of Daniel González Linacero, are analyzed with the aim of defining their relationship with previous works and intellectuals, pointing out the continuities and novelties embodied in their pages and giving prestige to the didactic and pedagogical work of its authors in front of the cultural setback that the Francoism brought about.

As a result of the incorporation of the basic competences into the school curriculum after the application of the LOE, the need to determine them for the topics related to health education arises. In the present work, an instrument has been developed to analyze contents and competences related to Food and Physical Activity included in the textbooks of Biology and Geology of Compulsory Secondary Education. The results show the predominance of the conceptual dimension, followed by the procedural and attitudinal dimensions. Regarding the five levels of the concept of health, the presence of a greater number of competence contents of the Informative and Preventive levels stands out, showing a predominance of the traditional biologicist/medical approach. The competence contents related to Environmental Health (level 3) and Personal Development are addressed in a minor extent, with even less significance of the Personal and Social Development level. The need to design complementary resources that facilitate students? achievement of competences on Food and Physical Activity becomes clear.
