(1990) Arrotegui, J.I.; Barrios, C.; Gil Cano, Francisco

The authors describe a medical case of Intrabone Tibial Lypoma with anatomical-patology confirmed that constitutes in the bibliografical revision numbe r 35. They realize, abolit this clinic case the review of other lesions with which they must establish the differential diagnosis.

Comportamiento Biológico de Implantes Tendinosos Autógenos Intraarticulares. Interfase con los distintos medios receptores
(1990) Mandia Mancebo, Fermín; Gutiérrez, R.; López Alonso, A.; Díaz Flores, L.
The authors presented an experimental work in rabbits. They rewiewed the revascularization an morfology ("Sinovialization" and "Ligamentation") of tendon autograft used to replace the anterior cruciate ligament (18 rabbits studied) by histological techniques.

The authors made a comparative study between the Electromyography (EMG) and the radiculography with the surgical findings in 100 Herniated intervertebral disk (H.I.D.) operated on. With the E.M.G. they had obtained a correct diagnostic in 83% of case s and 79% with the radiculography. The radiculography showed the bigger accurancy in S1 than L5 (85'7% - 70'4%) and E.M.G. showed bigger accurancy B in L5 than S1 (88'6% - 78'5%). The E.M.G. had an special utility in the diagnosis of neuropathie s and the review and follow up after surgical procedure. It's very important the trainning of the E.M.G. examine r to obtain correct information.

(1990) Remartínez Rivares, José María; Latorre Sahún, A.; Castiella Muruzabal, Tomás; Aznar Aznarez, J. Mª; Seral Iñigo, Fernando
The author s expos e the results obtained in ten case s of congenital muscular torticolis treated surgicaly with Barcat and Godar's procedure, as much aesthetic as functional results. They analyze the parameters: sex age of the surgery, side affected, childbirth, associate anomalies, and facial asymetry, craneal movility, loss of muscular surface, and lateral bands after surgery. This results wer e compared woth the Bibliography.

Since the possible functional alterations of the gastroesophageal junction that are frecuent in scoliosis are not well known, Radiologic studies of the gastroesophageal passageway, esophageal manometric studies, and C. T. Scan Studies wer e perfomed in three groups of scoliotic patients and in one control group in order to determine the possible origin of the alterations, their incidenc e and the relationship with the characteristics of the scoliotic curve, and the modifications produced after surgical correction. Functional disorders of the gastroesophageal junction occur in 27% of the-96 young patients with scoliosis compared to 0% in the control group of 25 young individuals. The statiscal study of the most significant variables demonstrated a greater incidenc e of thes e gastroesophageal alterations in thoracic scoliosis that affected the vertebral segment T7-T12 and when the Angle of Cobb wa s larger. In a group of 24 scoliotic patients, the surgical correction of the scoliosis eliminated the GER (gastroesophageal Reflux) in 7 cases, without modifying the parametres of the manometri c study. In the C. T. Scan study, a group of 25 scoliotic patients showed an important distortion in the diaphragmatic crura, but no relationship wa s found between this and the degree of vertebral rotation nor with the digestive alterations which have been studied.

Metástasis Epidurales a Nivel Espinal (1982-1986) : Revisión de los Resultados. Valor del Tratamiento Quirúrgico
    (1990) Arrotegui Lopez, J.M.
The results of decompressive laminectomy wer e assessed in a series of 31 patiens with spinal cord compression by epidural metastatic tumour. The thoracic spine was most often involved in 2,7 cases. The most frequent primary tumour in men was the prostate (10/21) and the breast in women (5/10). Preoperative , 18 patients wer e paraparetic and paraplegia was observed in further 5. Survival after surgery was limited with 35.48% alive at six months, and 22.58% at one year. The authors conclude that laminectomy and all possible tumour removal is indicated in patients with spinal cord compression without long life expectation.
