- La Biblioteca Històrica: escrutinio y aventura(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Gimeno Blay, Francisco M.The objective of this work is to show the actions of the Historical Library of the University of Valencia aimed at safeguarding the collection of manuscripts it possesses. The characteristics and methodology of the description instruments elaborated are studied, the control mechanisms set in motion are analyzed, and information is provided on the adversities and misfortunes to which the codices have been exposed.

- La Biblioteca auxiliar de un archivo: la Biblioteca de la Catedral de Valencia(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Marín Pastrana, Alberto; Morales Ferrer, Juan Francisco; Pérez Giménez, Juan Ignacio; Vidal Cabo, ChristianEl Archivo-Biblioteca de la Catedral de Valencia ha implementado una serie de iniciativas que permiten redefinir, y poner en valor, su Biblioteca auxiliar, pasando a considerarla una biblioteca viva y no un mero almacén de libros. Por una parte, revisando los criterios de selección, clasificación y ordenación del fondo librario. Por otra, con la adopción de un nuevo programa de gestión bibliotecaria (Sophia) y de un OPAC accesible desde la web del archivo, poniendo a disposición del investigador-usuario las herramientas de descripción necesarias para un mejor conocimiento de la colección bibliográfica. Con ello, la catedral metropolitana de Valencia ofrece a la sociedad valenciana una biblioteca especializada renovada, de referencia para el estudio de la Historia de la Iglesia.
- Evaluando el impacto de la difusión: estudio sobre el proyecto Isabel de Villena. Una dona del nostre temps en la Biblioteca Històrica de la Universitat de València (2020-2021)(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Bernabé, Anna; Millás, ElisaWhat benefits can university libraries holding special collections bring to society and how can they contribute to the strategic objectives of the universities they belong to? From April 2020 to July 2021, a working group established inside the Historical Library of the Universitat de València studied the perceptions and the expectations of the users towards the Library, especially about the dialogue with the Valencian culture, and contributed to the planning of the collective reading about the work of Isabel de Villena (11.20.2020). Then, a second phase of research was set up, and the results obtained were compared with those of the first phase.
- La función del correo durante las exposiciones temporales. El procedimiento de la Biblioteca Histórica de la UCM(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Delgado Alonso, CarlaLending of books and documents between entities or institutions is becoming more frequent. At the same time as an opportunity for the divulgation of the documentary collections, it implies a need for management and the establishment of controls for the conservation of the works. The figure of the courier plays a fundamental role in this task. In the Historical Library of the Universidad Complutense, this work is carried out following a procedure that allows it to be adapted to the different needs of the lending and the documentary typology. This communication aims to expose this procedure and share some resources that may be useful to carry out the work of a courier and promote the preservation of documents during its exhibition.
- El nuevo paradigma de las bibliotecas de las órdenes religiosas: el ejemplo de los franciscanos de la Inmaculada Concepción(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Marín Pastrana, AlbertoThe libraries of religious orders have been since their origin the repositories of the bibliographic tradition of society. Since the 19th century, due to confiscations and wars, this type of fund has been losing importance due to the loss and expropriation of books. In the 21st century, religious orders are undergoing a process of gradual secularization, a fact that puts this heritage in danger of being dispersed. To avoid the loss of this heritage, the Franciscan Province of the Immaculate Conception has created a network of Franciscan libraries for the cataloging of funds and their value.
- Las bibliotecas y Ovidio: una herramienta para difundir un patrimonio digital contextualizado(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Díez Platas, Fátima; Díez Platas, María LuisaEl objeto de esta comunicación es presentar el blog "Las bibliotecas y Ovidio: un blog sobre bibliotecas, sobre libros y sobre Ovidio" que constituye una ocasión de contextualizar los ejemplares que se van colocando poco a poco en las estanterías virtuales de la BIBLIOTECA DIGITAL OVIDIANA (BDO), abordándolos de una manera diferente, ya no como los individuos "atomizados" que se estudian a través de la ficha diseccionados, sino como parte integrante de una biblioteca por la que se realiza una suerte de visita virtual aprovechando la presencia de los ovidios ilustrados. Una invitación para conocer de manera conjunta los ejemplares estudiados y sus "hogares", las casi cien bibliotecas visitadas físicamente en estos quince años de trabajo del proyecto BIBLIOTECA DIGITAL OVIDIANA: ediciones ilustradas de Ovidio en las bibliotecas españolas, siglos XV-XIX.

- Mentes jóvenes y libros antiguos: la innovación para la docencia en patrimonio bibliográfico(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Carvajal González, Helena“Quid est liber: proyecto de innovación para la docencia en libro antiguo y patrimonio bibliográfico” of the UCM is an initiative that arose in 2020 with the aim of transmitting the values and importance of bibliographic heritage to generations a priori alien to the modes of expression of the antiquarian book. The project seeks to develop quality resources, by and for students, through contact with properly directed fieldwork, the selection and preparation of relevant information and the presentation of the results in a dynamic and accessible way, without forgetting scientific accuracy.
- La Biblioteca Jurídica de los siglos XVI-XVIII de la Universitat Jaume I: Creación y desarrollo de un fondo antiguo de libros de derecho en una biblioteca universitaria del siglo XX(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) García Edo, Vicent; Gómez Albiñana, RosaThe purpose of the study is to describe the process of formation of the collection of ancient legal books that form part of the special collections section of the Library of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, created in 1991. The selection and acquisition of the books was carried out by the faculty of the Department of History of Law of the university with the aim of creating a legal library that would bring together the main works of legislation and jurisprudence of the peninsular kingdoms printed during the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries to make them available to researchers, teachers and university students. Some of the physical and formal characteristics of the copies that make up the antique collection are also analyzed.
- El uso de las serendipias como fuente de investigación: un ejemplo de la Universidad de Salamanca(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Becedas González, Margarita; Lilao Franca, ÓscarWe present an example of the possibilities offered by serendipity as a research source. On many occasions it is difficult to establish a link between the objects found inside books and the people who left them; at any rate, they tell us little or not enough to trace even a minimum life itinerary. This is not the case in the instance we present here. The University of Salamanca acquired Teodoro Martín Robles’s library, made up of some 2,000 titles, in 1954. The amount and diversity of the objects found in his books - drawings, notes, letters, photographs - stimulated our curiosity, and with the help of archival records and historical press references we have been able to rebuild to a large extent his biography and to fit into that framework the pieces of the puzzle scattered throughout the pages of his books.
- Las encuadernaciones artísticas de la XV condesa-duquesa de Benavente en la Biblioteca General de la Universidad de Zaragoza(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Bailo Benito, Lorena22 artistical bookbinding in Neoclassical style is described and analysed to build upon Library of Osuna knowledge. They belonged to María Josefa Alonso Pimentel, 15th Countess-Duchess of Benavente. These bookbinding cover 22 copies that arrived at Zaragoza University Historical Library because the Spanish government bought the Library of Osuna after the 12th Duke of Osuna’s death, ruined and without heirs. The books of this library were spread across Spanish public libraries
- Más allá de la incunabulística: la difusión de las Trobes en lahors de la Verge Maria en la sociedad valenciana(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Viciano, PauEste trabajo analiza la difusión social que ha tenido durante los siglos XIX y XX el incunable titulado Obres o Trobes en lahors de la Verge Maria, perteneciente al fondo de la Universitat de Valencia. Considerado el primer libro impreso en la Península y, posteriormente, el primero de carácter literario, han sido diversos los significados que se han atribuido a esta obra en la historia cultural española y valenciana, especialmente en dos momentos clave como fueron las conmemoraciones centenarias de 1874 y 1974
- Salvamento de documentos mediante liofilización: una experiencia en la Universidad de La Laguna(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Martín Cantos, Rafael JoséSe explica el proceso de liofilización como método para salvar documentos dañados por el agua, realizado por primera vez en España. Tras una inundación acaecida en 1993 en la Biblioteca de la Universidad de La Laguna, se llevó a cabo la recuperación de once obras, impresas en el siglo XVIII, mediante la técnica de liofilización, que consiste en congelación y secado en cámara de vacío.
- La cartoteca de la Universitat de València: 20 años de gestión del patrimonio cartográfico(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Rueda Murria, JoséLa Cartoteca de la Universitat de València gestiona desde 2002 una parte muy importante del patrimonio cartográfico de dicha universidad, hasta entonces disperso en diversas instancias. Partiendo de los criterios de antigüedad, rareza y valor cultural, entendido como la vinculación de los mapas con las circunstancias históricas de su producción, se describen brevemente sus principales colecciones. Posteriormente se detallan las acciones realizadas para su conservación y difusión. La Cartoteca ha sido un instrumento útil para la identificación y puesta en valor del patrimonio cartográfico de la Universitat de València, mucho más rico y variado de lo que se pensaba.
- La difusión de colecciones especiales en la biblioteca de la Universidad de Cantabria: el caso del fondo Pérez y Cía(Universitat de València. The archive Pérez y Cía is an example of this work, as it has allowed to enhance archival and bibliographical items related to the study of emigration to America by creating a data base and retrieving related bibliographical materials.
- Bibliotecas abiertas. El programa de visitas de la Biblioteca Valenciana Nicolau Primitiu. Información bibliográfica y difusión bibliotecaria. Biblioteca Valenciana(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Muñoz Feliu, Miguel CarlosEn un contexto de reducción de la financiación pública y de cambio de paradigma en el acceso a la información, la supervivencia de las bibliotecas está ligada a un mayor y mejor conocimiento de la ciudadanía de sus colecciones, productos y servicios. En este estudio se analiza el programa de visitas de la Biblioteca Valenciana Nicolau Primitiu, sus características, destinatarios y tipologías, así como los resultados alcanzados hasta ahora.
- Escritoras, impresoras, propietarias de libros: potenciar los estudios de género en el CRAI Biblioteca de Fondo Antiguo de la Universidad de Barcelona(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Verger, NeusThe growing interest in gender studies in all fields has encouraged the Rare Book and Manuscript CRAI Library to review the treatment of gender from different angles. The main axes have been the following: Exhibition and Conference "El fons antic de la Universitat de Barcelona amb perspectiva de gènere"; databases of printers and former owner; list of "Dones al Fons Antic UB". This is a cross-cutting project with the aim of exploring and promoting women's collections.
- Alteraciones habituales en los soportes bibliográficos. Clasificación, comparativa y descripción para su correcta identificación(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Monclús Gómez, ElisabetAprender a reconocer las alteraciones y el estado de conservación de un libro es de gran importancia para los participantes de estas Jornadas, de cara a poder dar respuesta a distintas cuestiones, como decidir si se encuentra en condiciones idóneas para ser prestado para una exposición o si puede ser consultado por un investigador (en caso de presencia de microorganismos). Además, si esos datos son correctamente comprendidos, podrán ser trasladados de manera fidedigna al registro bibliográfico y enriquecerán la información que reciban los usuarios sin necesidad de manipular el ejemplar. El objetivo es crear un catálogo visual de alteraciones comunes, junto con breves explicaciones descriptivas que ayuden a diferenciarlas.
- El Dia del Llibre Valencià: una experiencia de socialización del patrimonio bibliográfico en la Biblioteca Històrica de la Universitat de València(Universitat de València. Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, 2022) Romero Martínez, FedericoThis communication presents the activity that, since 2019, the Historical Library of the University of Valencia has carried out on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Valencian Book. An activity that consists of the public and continuous reading of the work of a Valencian author and whose main objectives are to open the spaces of the library to the university community and society, and to publicize the valuable bibliographic collection that it guards. The results obtained have been positive, both from the point of view of the organization and due to the high number and different areas of the participants and attendees. This experience has opened a path of collaboration with different agents and a way of socializing bibliographic heritage that, through closeness and emotion, creates awareness among citizens of the importance of heritage and its preservation, thus generating value for the society.
