- Visión de los maestros en formación sobre los modelos científicos y sus funciones en las ciencias y en su enseñanza(2017) Bravo Torija, Beatriz; Mateo González, EsterThis study examines the view of 201 preservice primary teachers about scientific models and their functions in science and in science education. A questionnaire was designed and implemented from which the answers to the following questions are analysed: What do you understand as a scientific model? Which are the functions of models in science and science education? Results showed that, although 24.5% recognised scientific models as a simplified representation of a phenomenon, 22.8% considered it as a way or ?method? in which scientists work. Regarding model?s functions, 45.7% identified models as teachers? tools to explain and summarise information to their students or tools to help them to teach.
- Creencias epistémicas sobre la Geografía y la Historia en la formación inicial del profesorado de Educación Infantil y Primaria(2017) Miguel Revilla, Diego; Fernández, JulioEpistemic beliefs about Geography and about History can impact the way teachers address both subjects in their classroom practice. This mixed-methods research focuses on Early Childhood and Primary Education initial teacher training, and on the relation between pre-service teachers? visions for both disciplines. By making use of an open-ended questionnaire, and by using two analytical frameworks based of progression levels, the views of 63 prospective teachers are examined. Results show the existence of a positive, statistically significant correlation between the beliefs about Geography and about History. The necessity of working specifically about the nature of both areas is proposed as a way of improving teaching practices.
- ¿Cómo utilizan los conocimientos en ciencias los futuros maestros de educación infantil ante una información escrita?(2017) Cantó Doménech, José; Pro Bueno, Antonio José de; Solbes Matarredona, JordiEn este trabajo se analizan cómo los futuros maestros y maestras de educación infantil hacen uso de sus conocimientos científicos en el ámbito cotidiano. Para ello, 64 estudiantes del 4º curso del Grado de Maestro/a de Educación Infantil de la Universidad de Valencia, después de una lectura de dos textos periodísticos sobre los efectos del accidente nuclear de Fukushima en los Juegos Olímpicos de Japón de 2020, contestaron un cuestionario abierto También debieron responder unas cuestiones sobre la utilización didáctica de los textos. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto la poca incidencia que la ciencia ha tenido a la hora de formar su opinión, así como dificultades que encuentran a la hora de usar sus conocimientos científicos en contextos cotidianos.
- El patrimonio arqueológico en los libros de texto de Educación Secundaria(2017) Meseguer Gil, Antonio J.; Arias Ferrer, Laura; Egea Vivancos, AlejandroThe aim of this paper is to analyze how archaeological heritage is introduced and used in Secondary Education History textbooks (Year 7, 10-11 year old students). To get that aim, it has been selected a sample of six textbooks edited by three different publishers under different education laws (LOE and LOMCE). A qualitative research was conducted in order to analyze the sample in a contextualized way. Results show an increasing presence of archaeological heritage in textbooks and in a wider range of format, although the actions demanded regarding the archaeological heritage is still characterized by its low cognitive character, that requires very little reasoning by the students.
- La Prueba Saber de Ciencias Sociales en Colombia y su utilidad pedagógica para los maestros(2017) Palacios Mena, NancyEl objetivo del artículo es analizar la naturaleza y las características del examen que evalúa el conocimiento de las ciencias sociales en secundaria en Colombia. La metodología utilizada es el análisis documental. La lectura de los documentos fue registrada en tarjetas con información como título, carácter del texto, procedencia, fecha de producción, contenido y orientación. Se pudo establecer que de un examen centrado principalmente en la memorización de contenidos, se pasó a uno en el que es importante el desarrollo de competencias, sin embargo hay críticas respecto a que este se orienta a habilidades y conocimientos evaluados en el Informe PISA, o en los que tienen interés organismos multilaterales, que a los ojos de muchos pretenden afianzar el modelo neoliberal y con ello profundizar las condiciones de pobreza y desigualdad.
- La Evolución del Concepto de Patrimonio : Oportunidades para la Enseñanza de las Ciencias(2017) Morón-Monge, Hortensia; Morón Monge, María del CarmenThis paper describes and analyses how heritage concept evolves and changes from Spanish law on heritage. For that, it is analyzed explicitly heritage concept and focus on natural and geological heritage from three documents. In this analysis, we observe an evolutionary-conceptual tendency of the heritage and its teaching, in which apparently there is no single concept about heritage and, therefore, a single educational perspective. In this trend, the conceptualization of heritage is expanding and enriching from a more unidisciplinary and conservation-oriented vision, towards a more interdisciplinary and educational. This conceptual evolution is associated in turn with the material and tangible character of the heritage towards other more intangible and relative. Finally, this last conceptual notion of heritage and its teaching can foment activist attitudes on the socio-scientific issues and promote a scientific literacy for science education.
- Aplicación del modelo 5E para aprender mecánica a través de la indagación en educación secundaria(2017) González Bértoa, Ana; Crujeiras Pérez, BeatrizThis paper examines the process of solving an inquiry task about Newton?s laws that consists of designing a montage for investigating which surface would be the most appropriate to drag boxes of clothes in a warehouse. The participants are 23 9th-grade students. Data collection consists of students? written responses related to the process of design, interpreting results and drawing conclusions were collected. For data analysis, we used the instruction model 5E. The main results highlight certain difficulties in students? performances related to the process of design and to the explanation of how to use it.
- Las representaciones del Estado del Bienestar y la formación ciudadana. Un estudio de caso(2017) Asensi Silvestre, ElviraThe aim of this research is to investigate which are the previous conceptions of University students about the Welfare State. From this topic we can approach to the conception of citizenship and show how a social issue can problematize the idea of historical thinking. This conception is investigated by using different instruments such as questionnaires of previous ideas and discussion groups. The results show that students have a lack of welfare state historical perspective but once they ponder its historical evolution and its validity nowadays, the perception changes towards greater awareness of the model of critical citizenship and ethically responsible that we pretend to promote.
