- Estudio y análisis médicolegal de las muertes en privación de libertad en el servicio penitenciario federal de la República Argentina(2019) Gabrielli, Omar Augustodeath is an inevitable event in life. Like any other citizen, an individual under a state of deprivation of liberty has a fundamental right to health. However, it is not clear if this right is positive or negative. This retrospective and descriptive study was carried out according to the results of the annual report carried out by the National Penitentiary Service of the Argentine Republic, with the aim of highlighting the pattern of deaths among the prison population of the Federal Penitentiary Service. It is concluded that the question of death under state of deprivation of liberty, in the penitentiary centers dependent on the Federal Penitentiary Service are mostly natural, and consecutively for the case of violent deaths, suicides top the list of causalities. Despite having reports from state control agencies, there are still many legal gaps, forensic and administrative to be resolved.
