    Als cent anys de la mort de Constantí Llompart

    1993 was the centenary celebration of the death of writer, journalist and politician Carmel Navarro Llombart, more commonly known by his pseudonym Constantí Llombart. The speech by Vicent Ventura at the celebration organized by the University of Valencia takes a look at the highlights in the life of Llombart and his statements in favor of recuperating Catalan language and culture, in opposition to the groups that would ultimately dominate during the Renaixença in the Valencian Country.

    The publication of the Normes ortográfiques de l'IEC (1913) and its adoption in the entire linguistic region in 1932 in the Valencian Country with the so-called Normes de Castelló was the result of a process in which differing spelling norms had to be standardized. The author examines in detail the norms used in several popular and dialectic magazines published in Barcelona (La Esquella de la Torratxa), Valencia (El Micalet de Valensia) and Palma de Majorca (En Figuera).
