- Kants Hedonismus(2020) Hildt, MoritzImmanuel Kant famously rejected hedonism. It is, however, much less known that Kant himself ? despite his rejection of hedonism in moral matters ? puts forward a hedonistic theory when he talks about human happiness. While this essay is primarily concerned with a discussion of what I shall call Kant?s ?prudential hedonism?, my findings are also systematically relevant, in at least two ways: Firstly, Kant?s argumentative strategy ? dismissing hedonism with regard to morality, while endorsing it with regard to human happiness? suggests that hedonism as a philosophical approach deserves a nuanced treatment. Secondly, Kant?s own hedonism suggests that this approach might have a considerably higher systematic potential as hedonism is frequently granted in contemporary debates. In this essay, I will start by sketching Kant?s prudential hedonism. Then, I will discuss three difficulties my reading encounters ? the indeterminacy of pleasure, the possibility of something like a ?theory? of well-being in Kantian terms, and the problem of a deficit in autonomy ?, before returning to the two systematic implications of my interpretation in the conclusion.
- Kant and Baumgarten on positing. Kant's notion of positing as a response to that of Baumgarten(2020) Sala, LorenzoIn the literature on Kant?s philosophy, it is almost universally ignored that Baumgarten used the notion of positing in a technical sense before Kant. In this article, I try to fill this gap in the literature by providing an analysis of Kant?s notion of positing in relation to Baumgarten?s one. I first show how Kant's differentiation of relative and absolute positing is not simply an alternative to Baumgarten's notion of existence, but is instead an alternative to his (usually ignored) notion of positing; I then develop a positive account of Kant?s notion of positing.
- La actualidad de la distinción entre fenómeno y cosa en sí para la fenomenología. Los diferences significados de la cosa en sí en Kant y Husserl.(2020) Breuer, IreneKant?s and Husserl?s philosophies both ground on the distinction between the things in themselves and the phenomenon. While for Kant, this distinction rests in the respective faculties and the mediating function of imagination, for Husserl it is a function of the perceptual process itself. Concerning the thing in itself, its main sense for Kant is that of noumenon or intelligible being, while for Husserl it is mainly the ideal of the adequate givenness of a particular reality of the thing. This contribution aims at developping Husserl?s critical reformulation of Kant?s thing in itself by analysing its different senses and interpretations at both authors.
- Umkehrung der Verhältnisse. Schellings Rezeption der Moralphilosophie Kants und ihre philosophiegeschichtliche Dimension(2020) Cabezas, SebastiánComparisons between Kant and Schelling are mostly used to systematically analyse topics of German idealism. However, such an approach often disregards the resulting historical aspects. This paper is an attempt to draw historical conclusions from such a systematic analysis. I do so by showing how Schelling?s critique of Kant?s moral doctrine in Philosophie und Religion allows to gain an insight into Schelling?s philosophical development. Specifically, I argue that this criticism rests upon the claim that the ordo cognoscendi must follow the ordo essendi. This claim will be rejected in Schelling?s Freiheitsschrift and Stuttgarter Privatvorlesungen. Finally, historical remarks conclude this contribution.

- La influencia de Pierre Bayle en la construcción de la segunda antinomia de la razón pura(2020) Perrone, DanielThis paper aims to establish precisely the scope of Pierre Bayle's influence on the construction of Kant's second antinomy of pure reason, since there is a remarkable parallelism between this second cosmological conflict and the argument against extension of the article "Zeno of Elea"of Bayle's Dictionary. It is argued that Bayle, employing the skeptical method in metaphysical research, has a major influence on the construction of the main arguments of the second antinomy and sets a precedent for its logical solution.
