Chemical design of coordination polymers and functional materials: from pore control in MOFs through spin dynamics in nanomagnets to rotaxanes in molecular electronics

This thesis discusses the chemical design of coordination polymers and functional materials for their enhancement in molecular materials field. The design and the synthesis of two bistable molecular switches, one terbium phthalocyanine single molecule magnet, three compartmentalized coordination polymers which selectively sorb carbon dioxide from a mixture of gases and two mixed metal organic frameworks, where a palladium metalloligand is incorporated into the framework will be describe.
