Mediación familiar en España

There is not a nation-wide law about familiar mediation in Spain; however, there are references to it in many norms, and there is a specific autonomous legislation in eleven Communities. Regulations about mediation agreements are sparing and disperse. In general, it is admitted that agreements can be reached in both an extra-judicial and an intra-judicial mediation. Agreements derived from an extrajudicial mediation are taken as family law contracts, binding to the parties. Agreements derived from an intra-judicial mediation, which can be celebrated in any stage of the matrimonial process, should be presented to the judge of its approbation and homologation.
