The present communication tries to be an advance of the results of the archaeological investigations in the Neolithic settlement of the Peña Oviedo (Camaleño) during the years 1991 and 1992. Associated with the settlement there is a megalithic group, of great relevance, two of whose structures were excavated during the years 1989, 1990 and 1991, recovering mobile elements among which the presence of geometric microtites, smooth and incised ceramics, a polished ax and some other macro-political elements (anvils, grinders, ...) stand out. From the base of one of the megalithic structures comes GrN-18.782 dating from 3.245 ± a.c. by conventional carbon 14. The works in the settlement of the Peña Oviedo are registered within the framework of the Research Project of the University of Cantabria, number 04-640-488, "The Recent Prehistory in the western area of Cantabria: characterization of structures megalithic and land uses ", directed by Dr. Mª R. Serna González, and have the appropriate permission of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Cantabria.
