- E-sports y brecha de género: La percepción de las profesionales españolas(2019) Moldes Farelo, RocíoThe present paper aims to identify the causes of under-representation of women in E-sports. According to a genre perspective, interest in videogames at the amateur level is quite similar. However, in its professional level, female participation becomes very limited. The fact that physical effort is irrelevant (a requirement for ?traditional sports?) could be considered a variable that would negatively affect greater to equality in the conditions of access and participation of women in electronic sports. Against any predictions, the data on the presence of women are elocuent: few women, with much lower wages than men to remunerate same skills, and a general complaint by the female professionals of frequent situations of ?suffocating pressure? during competitions. The methodology, with a qualitative nature, has been focused on the technique of content analysis from a netnographic perspective. It has been spotlighted by the analysis of the testimonies made at the ?Women, E-sports and Unicorns? Conference, within the framework of the campaign ? MynameMygame, organized by the Movistar´s Riders club. In addition to content analysis, three in-depth interviews have been conducted
- La organización del trabajo por proyectos: La fábrica de la precariedad laboral(2019) Goussard, LucieThe project-based organization, considered as a radical reorganization of work around one or more simultaneous projects, is nowadays widespread in large companies and public administrations. According to the managerial way of thinking, this system would be virtuous: by giving more autonomy to the employees in the act of production and by developing their skills through mobility and interdisciplinarity of work teams, it would be able to arouse their full commitment. This study confirms in some way how this opinion has been imposed, but at the expense of precarious working conditions, increasing the dedication of employees and silencing any form of criticism. The research is based on a review of the literature and 50 interviews with technicians, engineers and industrial design executives working in a large company in the French automotive industry, where project-based organization is widespread. The links between this organization of work and precariousness are one of the results that stand out after the investigation.
- Sexualitat en persones grans: Claus per entendre la satisfacció sexual i el seu vincle amb la salut sexual(2019) Faus Bertomeu, AinaLa satisfacció sexual s?ha convertit en una qüestió important dintre dels estudis sobre sexualitats, dels que sistemàticament les persones grans queden excloses al reduir la seua sexualitat a aspectes relacionats amb la mala salut. En aquest estudi s?analitza la satisfacció sexual amb la parella d?aquest grup de població a través de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud Sexual, prenent com a base el model biopsicosocial de la sexualitat (DeLamater, 2002) i considerant el gènere i diferents grups d?edat. Els resultats indiquen el caràcter multifactorial de la satisfacció sexual, prioritzant elements de natura relacional, social i cultural per sobre de l?estat de salut.
- La relevancia de la investigación social a nivel local para el diseño de políticas municipales: el diagnóstico social de la ciudad de Valencia(2019) Ramírez Rangel, J. Verónica; Lorente Campos, RaúlPresentamos algunos de los resultados obtenidos con la investigación ?Diagnóstico Social de la Ciudad de València, 2017?, realizada en el marco de un convenio de colaboración entre el Ayuntamiento de València, a través de la Concejalía de Servicios Sociales y del Servicio de Bienestar Social e Integración y la Universitat de València (Red Incluye). Uno de los rasgos más relevantes de la investigación fue su enfoque local, territorial y subterritorial en el desarrollo metodológico y técnico de la investigación al estarorientada a proporcionar información actualizada, inédita y relevante para las funciones del personal técnico de las once áreas de los Centros Municipales de Servicios Sociales (CMSS). El diagnóstico consta de dos fases. En la primera se realizó un análisis de las principales tendencias socio demográficas en cada área de los CMSS, periodo 2003-2016. La segunda fase fue elaborada en base a una encuesta, elaborada por el equipo de investigación, realizada en 1.676 hogares de la ciudad de Valencia entre los meses de abril a julio del 2017. Con once submuestras independientes para cada área de CMSS. Los resultados aportan una visión en el espacio local-urbano de la ciudad de València de los procesos de polarización y agudización de las desigualdades sociales, caracterizados por la consolidación de áreas en donde los efectos de la crisis económica han sido prácticamente imperceptibles y otros donde se observa una concentración de la población en situación de riesgo pobreza y vulnerabilidad relacionada tanto con la cristalización de largos procesos de exclusión como con el surgimiento de ?nuevos perfiles? de vulnerabilidad.
- La participación de la ciudadanía en los procesos de diseño de las políticas públicas de empleo. El caso del litoral sur de Alicante(2019) Carratalá Puertas, José Liberto; Ruiz-Callado, Raúl; de-Gracia-Soriano, PabloThe purpose of this research is to describe how citizens have contributed to the development of a Territorial Employment Assessment (TED) promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana, prior to the design of future public policies for the promotion of employment, in three municipalities of Alicante. It was achieved through an Action Research-Participation (IAP). Participatory workshops and focus groups were held that served to make the public aware of the existence of the project and its purposes, as well as provide their experience, opinion and propose possible solutions to the problem of employment in these municipalities. It can be concluded that citizens are able to contribute their perspective on a problem that concerns them and how they can contribute to the design of policies aimed at promoting employability.
- Potencialidades de Google Maps en la investigación social aplicada(2019) Pérez Alonso, Yaiza; Gielen, Eric; Pérez, Raquel; Pérez, JèssicaIn recent years, Google has devoted resources to build a complete map of the world. They constantly scan the territory, collecting a large amount of data that provides updated and complete geographic information. This allows us to have an interoperable map that provides the end user with a search tool, not only of routes but also of shops, equipment and any type of geo-referenced information. In addition, Google Maps provides a series of Application Programming Interface (API), which provides a library of set of subroutines, functions and procedures (in object-oriented programming) that can be used by other software to automate the extraction of information of the Google platform. These free applications can be technological innovations of great utility for applied social research. In this article, we intend to present an experience with this application of Google in applied social research and show the potentials and weaknesses of these APIs in applied research
- Guía para la incorporación de la perspectiva de género en la docencia en sociología, economía y ciencias políticas(2019) Ortiz Monera, Rosa; Morero Beltrán, AnnaSociology has constructed a male worldview that entails a biased interpretation of social reality. For its part, the traditional economy has made invisible the dependence of the commercial sphere of the domestic sphere. And in the field of political science, we also find many gender biases in basic concepts such as justice, equality or citizenship. This article, based on the work done by the authors in the Guia per a una docència universitària amb perspectiva de gènere de Sociologia, Economia i Ciència Política, offers some proposals, teaching resources and consultation tools to introduce the gender perspective in teaching, knowledge transfer and research in these disciplines.

This study introduces the basis in which critic university teaching proposal is carectarized by different active learning mechanismes with the students for the achivement of four transversal competences, specially relevant ones in this field: professional interdisciplinary, team work, problem solving and the utilization of ICTs.
- Explorando las desigualdades sociales y formas de contrarrestarlas(2019) Collado Sevilla, Ana Antonia; Fachelli, Sandra; Vergés Bosch, Núria; Domínguez Amorós, Màrius; Solé, Marina; López-Roldán, PedroLa propuesta de este artículo es presentar una experiencia actual de innovación docente en la que se vincula la enseñanza de la Sociología con la investigación desarrollada en el proyecto europeo INCASI: International Network for Comparative Analysis of Social Inequalities. La experiencia docente se aplica en la asignatura de Sociología, con alumnado de primer curso, del grado de Gestión y Administración Pública, de la Facultad de Derecho, de la Universidad de Barcelona. El eje central del trabajo desarrollado por el alumnado es realizar una investigación sociológica exploratoria sobre una desigualdad social y observar e idear políticas que sean innovadoras para contrarrestarla. Así, el alumnado realiza una investigación en grupo sobre una de las desigualdades sociales de análisis propias de INCASI (formación, empleo, mercado de trabajo, educación, vida familiar, migración, etc.), permitiendo al alumnado un contacto directo con un proyecto real y vivo mediante su producción científica y miembros del equipo. Los objetivos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de esta experiencia de innovación docente son los siguientes: (1) relacionar conocimientos teóricos básicos de la disciplina sociológica con la investigación de los fenómenos sociales; (2) practicar y adquirir diversas competencias de aprendizaje fundamentales, tanto en el contexto universitario como en el profesional, como son la competencia científica, la tecnológica, la capacidad comunicativa y el trabajo en equipo, todo ello desde una posición reflexiva y crítica; y (3) tomar conciencia de la riqueza de la transferencia de conocimiento de los resultados obtenidos en la investigación a la sociedad mediante la creación de una página web.
- The (im)possible success of disadvantaged students. Reflections on education, migration and social change(2019) Santagati, MariagraziaThe paper focuses on the ?unexpected pathways? of successful students with an immigrant background: these biographical routes, that seems socially impossible, raise theoretical issues around the individual-society, actor-structure relationship. Disadvantaged students who succeed represent a sociological challenge in the attempt to understand atypical situations and to identify the institutional processes and the structural opportunities that facilitate them, reducing ethnic inequalities in education. This framework is the starting point of the Su.Per. project (Success in educational pathways of students with immigrant background), based on the collection of written autobiographies of 65 immigrant students, attending upper secondary education in Northern Italy. The biographical approach allows to deepen the social change that derives from the positive impact of immigration on education. Within this interpretative perspective, the article underlines the contribute of the Su.Per. project to a new ?definition of the situation?, that considers possible the educational success of immigrant students, drawing new narratives and discourses on inequalities, but also giving voice and supports to disadvantaged students, and introducing them to a field of unforeseen possibilities.
- Amor y misoginia. A propósito de "amor fou" de Marta Sanz(2019) Perelló Tomás, FátimaEn este breve texto abordamos una aproximación a las relaciones amorosas, la misoginia romántica y su vinculación con las relaciones asimétricas de género en sociedades occidentales contemporáneas, a partir del análisis discursivo de la novela Amor Fou de la escritora Marta Sanz (2018). Todo discurso narrativo imaginado es, simultáneamente, producto de la realidad social e histórica en la que se inscribe y productor de las representaciones simbólicas hegemónicas que sustentan relaciones instituidas de desigualdad entre los distintos agentes sociales. Desde esta perspectiva, el análisis que proponemos de esta ficción narrativa se inscribe en el cruce de algunas renovaciones epistemológicas y teórico ? metodológicas impulsadas por la Sociología de las Emociones y la Sociología de Género
- The taint of torture and the brazilian legal system(2019) De Góes Brennand, Edna Gusmão; Volpato Dutra, Delamar JoséIn Brazil, the practice of torture intertwines deeply with its own history. The literature on the subject has had a greater intensification on its registers during the Dictatorial Regime (1964 to 1985). In spite of the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, Brazil only makes efforts to investigate the crimes of torture of this period to comply with the provisions of the United Nations in 2011. Within this scenario, the NationalTruth Commission (Law 12.528, of November 2011) was created with the purpose of clarifying the facts and circumstances of cases concerning human rights violations, as well as the Law on Access to Information (Law 12.527 of November 2011), which have regulated the constitutional right to access public information, valid for all areas of the public administration. These laws allowed the opening of the archives of the dictatorship until denied on the basis of a severely restricted access. In this context, was created the Network Studies and Research on Violence-RIEV in partnership with Federal University of Paraíba-UFPB and Federal University of Santa Catarina-UFSC with the objective of investigating violations of human rights during the dictatorship, such as torture, persecution and violations of the right-to-live. The study of these violations is of fundamental importance for the historical unveiling of this period, especially because they were perpetrated by agents of the State. This article aims to present part of the research undertaken to understand the official legal procedures to prevent the practice of acts of torture in the national territory and how they are understood in the Brazilian legal system, with special attention to Law 9.455, of April 7, 1997 that criminalizes torture.
- Transformando las prácticas de evaluación en las agencias de innovación para fomentar transiciones hacia la sostenibilidad(2019) Giachi, SandroThe aim of the study is to identify different styles and practices for evaluation of innovation policies based on different orientations, focusing on the case of the paradigm of transformative change to foster transitions towards sustainability, and the problems associated with its application. The study is exploratory, and it uses public funding agencies for innovation as strategic research settings. Based on the information provided by the experience of an international consortium participated by funding agencies from different countries, the main concepts and problems presented in the theoretical debate are illustrated. Finally, the main contributions of the study to the theory and practice of evaluating innovation policies are discussed from a sociological perspective.
- Cuando la historia está presente: Argumentos a favor de la sociología histórica(2019) Box, Zira; Latorre Catalán, Marta; Romero Ramos, HéctorSociology and history have maintained a discontinuous relationship and a permanent discussion. Classical sociology is intrinsically historical, but after the first theoretical synthesis the dialogue between both disciplines was extinguished and it has often been necessary to defend the need for the historical view in sociology from the margins of the dominant paradigm. However, as a specialty or subdiscipline, historical sociology has consolidated its own academic space and a strong theoretical, methodological and conceptual body. In Spain this process of institutionalization has not yet success. In this article we expose a few arguments in defense of historical sociology, both theoretical and for the validity of its scientific agenda
