Este documento contiene materiales docentes que han sido desarrollados como parte del conjunto de recursos didácticos y actividades de aprendizaje empleadas en Psicometría, una materia obligatoria de 9 créditos del segundo años del grado de Psicología en la Universitat de València. Aunque ya utilizamos un extenso conjunto de materiales docentes -bajo la forma de detallados documentos basados en Power-Point- desarrollados durante los últimos 5 años de docencia en inglés en el grupo de Alto Rendimiento Académico, en este documento aporto explicaciones más detalladas de una selección de tópicos que usualmente requieren un tratamiento más profundo. Al examinar varios de estos puntos en la medición psicológica (bases epistemológicas, Teoría Clásica de Tests y Teoría de la Respuesta al Ítem) estos documentos docentes complementarios tratan de contribuir a abordar algunas de las cuestiones frecuentes y a estimular el pensamiento crítico sugiriendo nuevos problemas y cuestiones.

This document contains teaching materials that have been developed as part of the set of didactic resources and learning activities employed in Psychometrics, a nine-credit compulsory subject taught in the second year of the Psychology degree at the University of Valencia. Although we already use an extensive set of classroom materials –in the form of detailed PowerPoint-like presentations developed in the past five years of teaching in English in the ‘Academic High Performance’ group of the Psychology degree– in this document I provide more detailed explanations for a selection of topics that usually require more thorough treatment. Examining several of the more sensitive points in psychological measurement (epistemological bases, Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory), these ancillary notes are intended to contribute to resolving some of the most frequently asked questions and encourage critical thinking by suggesting new issues and inquiries.
