La repercussió de l'obra de Lorenzo Palmireno en la filologia catalana
    (1991) Veny i Clar, Joan
It is always useful to set bounds to a semantic field when attempting to discuss lexical transmission. Once our attention is phocused on the names of birds collected by Palmireno in his Vocabulario del Humanista (1569), the influence of Belon, Gesner and specially of Joan B. Agnes becomes evident. On the other hand, it is also evident that the Catalan lexicographer Pere Torra (17th century) used in a rather indiscriminate manner Palmireno's work while assimilating in his Dictionnary words which on the base of their formal and / or their semantic structure can not be considered as Catalan. Some of these words have been nevertheless accepted by 20th century lexicographers.

El llemosinisme valencià a la darreria del segle XIX
    (1991) Rafanell, August
As this paper tries to show, the association between the terms Catalan and llemosí, traditionally used in an indiscriminate way when mainly referring to Catalan, was clearly revised and corrected by the middle of the 19th century both in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, but not so in Valencia, where its persistence can be seen as the clear expression of an outstanding form of local particularism vis à vis the raising linguistic Catalanism.

Actituds lingüístiques dels lexicògrafs valencians del segle XIX
    (1991) Alpera Leiva, Lluís
Linguistic attitudes shown by the Valencian lexicographers during the 19th century do vary considerably and range from Sanelo and Llombart's very positive views in favour of a standard norm, to the rather uncommitted and more neutral position of Escrig, or the very negative outlook represented by Cabrera.

La retòrica i la lingüística, 1775-1990
    (1991) Solà, Joan
It is a well known fact that school manuals' of the 18th and 19th centuries centred on the teaching of Rhetoric are closely linked with those geared towards the study of language in general and of Grammar in particular. The article, based on the work by Marcet-Solà, shows the relevance of this especial relationship and offers illustrative material from these manuals, restricted, like the work referred to, to the Catalan speaking area.
