Lexicografia i correcció: la funció dels diccionaris en la revisió de textos
(1994) Lorente Casafont, Mercè; Tebé, Carles
The aim of this paper is an attempt to revise the role of dictionaries in professional text supervising processes. Under the frame of text linguistics, we first explain how correction tasks are conditioned by text typology. Next, we study the macro structure of dictionaries (in order to consider what kind of lexicographical works are closer to the corrector needs) and then we study their micro structure (in order to set up what kind of information might be relevant for correction tasks). In conclusion, we finally State some lacks of current dictionaries for correction purposes, and we settle some aspects of text revision which are not expected to be solved with dictionary consultation.

La lexicografia catalana moderna a les Illes Balears
    (1994) Corbera Pou, Jaume
The works on lexicography published in the Balearic Islands after the completion of the Diccionari Català-Valencià-Balear (1962) are described and analysed in this paper. These works are already fully inserted in the movement for the linguistic recovery undertaken the last twenty years. Especially, but not exclusively, the paper analyses the reflection on those works of the particularity of the Balearic dialect with regard to the Standard language; that is to say, the degree of vindication of the specific forms and words of the insular Catalan tacitly or explicitly accepted in the Standard frame.

El nou diccionari normatiu de la llengua catalana
(1994) Cabré i Castellví, María Teresa; Bozzo, María; Egea, Àngels; Juncadella, Marta; Santamaría, Carolina
This article describes the process by which the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana (NDNLC) has been made; this dictionary brings up to date and regularizes Pompeu Fabra’s Diccionari General de la Llengua Catalana (DGLC), which implies, on the one hand, adding to the dictionary new words brought about by different social habits and by the progress of Science and technology, and, on the other hand, bringing the contents of the dictionary up to date. This project has been carried out in three different phases. The first consisted in creating a general Computer data base (BDOL) which contains, besides the DGLC, words belonging both to the common language and to specific fields; in this first phase a study of the DGLC was also carried out, with two aims: a) to analyse the text itself and in doing so select whatever Information might be considered obsolete today, and b) to find out the criteria which Fabra used to make the dictionary, which are implicit in the text. In the second phase the lexicographic criteria by which the dictionary was to be made were established, its entries (both words and phrases) were selected, the old articles were revised and new ones were created. Finally, in the third phase the data base specifically for the NDNLC was created; this contains all the Information of the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana, organised into articles.

    La lexicografia catalana a l'Alguer
    (1994) Corbera Pou, Jaume
The re are a few alguerès works made with lexicographic methods or pretensions, apart from some contributions more or less interesting or useful for the knowledge of the local language, intended principally for dialectologists: only two titles produce explicitly the label of «Vocabulary» or «Dictionary» and use the typical structure of this kind of works. We can add to these references an unpublished work by G. Palomba.

Un tast dels vocabularis bilingües valencians actuals
    (1994) Colomina i Castanyer, Jordi
By means of a choice of seventy words, this work shows the lexical richness and the degree of acceptance of the guidelines –defined in the Diccionari General de Llengua Catalana by Pompeu Fabra– regulating nine bilingual Valencian/Castilian and Castilian/Valencian vocabularies published between 1972 and 1993.

La lexicografia general i la normativa
    (1994) Solà, Joan
As a starting point we take the real needs of the present language users, specially those professionals of linguistic Services, in order to get a clear picture of which of their needs could be satisfied by a general language dictionary and which by a normative dictionary. The vagueness of the concept «normativity» is pointed out and the opinion is expressed that it is not easy to define in a precise way which of the needs mentioned ought to be the subject of normativity. The article concludes with a series of concrete examples which illustrate the concepts presented.

    L'ús dels diccionaris escolars
    (1994) Battaner Arias, María Paz
From a study of four cases of real use of school dictionaries a review is made of issues habitually debated in general lexicography which are present particularly in the lexicography of first-language acquisition. Proposals are then made for the use of school dictionaries as a series of learning goals based on parallel reflection on the lexical unit, and an awareness of the assumptions involved in lexicographic conventions.

    La lexicografia catalana actual
(1994) Cabré i Castellví, María Teresa
In this paper a general analysis of the evolution and current State of modem Catalan lexicography is undertaken, which starts with the setting up of a catalogue of lexicographic publications from 1940 onwards. In addition to the quantitative analysis of published dictionaries the paper introduces a typology study in order to sort out the variety and richness of modem Catalan lexicography. In the paper relevant data is presented on the situation of Catalan lexicography with respect to the quantity of existing dictionaries, and also on the factors that have determined their variety. Finally it can serve to establish the bases to build a lexicographic plan that helps to fill the gaps and avoids the unnecessary repetitions, so that Catalan can be given the same lexicographic resorts that are available for other widespread languages.

    Lexicografia i variació funcional
    (1994) Payrató Giménez, Lluís
This paper reviews the basic concepts related to notions of variation and functional variation, in particular register, and it questions whether these concepts have been taken into account by the lexicographic tradition. The paper focuses on which are the most suitable marks to recognize several aspects connected with the usage of lexical items: on the one hand the field (topic), the mode (channel), the tenor (purpose), and the tone (formality), as the register’ s components; and on the other hand, various factors concerning cultural, enunciative, and textual grounds.
