- Principales variaciones biogeográficas durante el cuaternario: el ejemplo ibérico(2006) Blázquez Morilla, Ana MaríaIn this work the main phytogeographical and zoogeographical variations, produced as a result of the best known glacial and interglacial periods of the Quaternary, are discussed in the context of the European continent and, especially, of the Iberian Peninsula, through the data from archaeological and palaeontological sites. In the European context, the periodic glacial and interglacial cycles result in N-S oriented migrations, with associated extinctions, that show the close connections between the terrestrial subsystems.
- Las inundaciones de la Plana de Castelló(2006) Segura Beltrán, Francisca S.The coastal plain between Benicàssim and Borriana is formed by several alluvial fans and old lagoons completely filled up. These areas are flooded in a recurrent way and differents types of floods are identified depending on terrain morphology and human activity. The most important factors causing the floods are: the disappearance of the streams ¿northern of the Millars River¿, the insufficient cross-sections ¿Riu Sec of Castelló¿, the human occupation of bed streams¿ southern of the Millars River¿and the concavity of the marshes. The interference between natural factors and human activity constitutes a recurrent flood model in the Valencian coastal plains. The agricultural, industrial and urban transformation, have originated the disappearance and the alteration of the natural beds, modifying and amplifying the flooded areas.
- Encauzamiento y mudamientos del río Segura en Orihuela durante los siglos XVI y XVII(2006) Ojeda Nieto, JoséLa lucha por impedir los desmadres del río Segura, a fin de evitar las temibles inundaciones, no es algo reciente, comenzó en el momento en que se apreciaron las mejoras del regadío controlado y dirigido frente al regadío proporcionado por la inundación. El presente artículo trata de poner de manifiesto cuáles fueron las actuaciones de los hombres de la Edad Moderna ¿siglos XVI y XVII, concretamente¿ en su afán por impedir los desastres de las avenidas. Merecen destacarse los mudamientos del río y las propuestas de ciertos ingenieros que, como las de Melchor (de) Luzón y Juan Antonio Pelegrín, recuerdan a las obras actuales.
- Elche y Elda-Peter (Alicante): la diferenciación social de dos núcleos industriales(2006) Cutillas Orgilés, ErnestoAn analysis of geodemographic and social economic variables in the province of Alicante shows the similarities existing between its two most populated industrial centres: Elche and Elda-Petrer, whose origins date back to the urban and demographic growth which began in 1960 attracting a significant proportion of the towns¿ present day population. By using multivariant techniques, we aim to carry out an in depth analysis of the relationships forged within the neighbourhoods of both population centres in order to define and classify those factors which have had the greatest influence in generating these socially homogeneous areas. The determining factors in this case are chiefly social status, life cycle and construction rate.

Transformaciones decimonónicas en el antiguo Raval de la Boatella (València)(2006) Teixidor de Otto, María JesúsWith the appearance of the hygienist illustrated ideas which led to the suppression of the urban graveyards and with the ecclesiastic disentailment of the XIXth century, throughout the above mentioned century important changes happened in the urban composition of great number of cities, guided by the techniques of alignments and the rebuilding. A new urban development speech is restored of which the zone chosen for our investigation is a good example, still being itself a very specific sector located around the old convent of Nuestra Señora de la Merced, in the current neighborhood of El Mercat in the Ciutat Vella of Valencia.
