Quantum decoherence in neutrino oscillations refers to the loss of coherence among neutrino mass eigenstates, resulting in a damping of the oscillation amplitude. Such effects are proposed in several frameworks of quantum gravity, where the structure of space-time itself perturbs the coherent evolution of the neutrino system. The damping of the oscillation amplitude leads to altered neutrino flavour ratios, which are accessible experimentally. The strength of decoherence is quantified by the decoherence parameter Γ. In this work, sensitivities and upper limits on Γ were obtained from the detection of atmospheric neutrinos with the KM3NeT detectors.
