Lending of books and documents between entities or institutions is becoming more frequent. At the same time as an opportunity for the divulgation of the documentary collections, it implies a need for management and the establishment of controls for the conservation of the works. The figure of the courier plays a fundamental role in this task. In the Historical Library of the Universidad Complutense, this work is carried out following a procedure that allows it to be adapted to the different needs of the lending and the documentary typology.
