| This paper focuses on the link between the various copies of Christ carrying the Cross by Gianfrancesco Maineri and the homonyms of Paolo da San Leocadio. Through various comparisons, it will try to explain the genesis of said model, also providing data that will allow a better classification of Leocadian specimens. Finally, a series of reflections are made around the hypothetical return of San Leocadio to Italy (1485-1489) and his possible connection with Maineri. | |||
