dc.description.abstract	In 1825 the new governor of the Philippines, Mariano Ricafort, made his entrance in the city of Manila. It was a political celebration, like all the others in the diminishing Spanish empire, seeking to assure the subjects? loyalty to the monarchy. Except in small details, the ceremony carried out by the new Royal representative was practically identical to those carried out by his predecessors.	es
