The cultural aspect in language teaching is essential for every student and even more so in the world of E/LE, which comprises an enormous diversity of topics and idiosyncrasies shared by Spanish-speaking territories. Despite this, handbooks and activities too often work with clichés related to Hispanic culture which correspond to the students' preconceived ideas and ignore other less popular yet highly relevant content. ¡Buen Camino! suggests working with one of the most important assets of Spanish culture, the Route to Santiago (Camino de Santiago), full of history and culture but still unknown by the general public. Using this subject as a common link, ¡Buen Camino! develops a variety of activities aimed at A2-B1 level students taken from a creative and communicative standpoint. | |
