En aquest treball es realitza un estudi botànic de la serra d'Espadà situada a les comarques castellonenques de l'Alt Palància i la Plana Baixa, des de la costa fins a l'interior, a fi de poder contribuir a un millor coneixement de la seua flora i vegetació. El treball es troba estructurat en diversos apartats o capítols: En el primer capítol es descriuen breument els estudis previs i contribucions al coneixement de la flora o vegetació que s'han dut a terme a l'àmbit de la zona que ara es pretén estudiar, al temps que es justifica l'estudi i es marquen quins són els objectius i el pla de treball. En un segon capítol es descriu amb més detall el medi físic, s'indica quina la situació, extensió i límits de la zona estudiada, les seues particularitats geològiques, les unitats de sòls que es presenten i la seua relació amb el tipus de vegetació, les unitats geomorfològiques que caracteritzen la zona, els rius i zones humides que es presenten, les seues característiques climatològiques i demogràfiques, així com les àrees que gaudeixen d'algun tipus de protecció. Al tercer capítol es realitza l'estudi florístic de la zona i s'aporta un catàleg florístic en el qual es relacionen detalladament tots aquells tàxons que hem pogut observar o dels quals es tenen referències i es conclou amb una anàlisi estadística del seu espectre corològic i de les seues formes vitals. En un quart capítol es realitza l'estudi fitosociològic del territori, d'acord amb l'escola sigmatista, amb l'exposició de l'esquema sintaxonòmic, la descripció jeràrquica de les diverses unitats de vegetació observades a la zona i l'aportació de les taules fitosociològiques. Finalment s'analitza la dinàmica de les sèries de vegetació i es mostra, amb esquemes, quina podria ser la seua evolució, es realitza la valoració botànica del territori i es comenten aquells aspectes relacionats amb la conservació o protecció que creiem que s'haurien de dur a terme.

In this work, a botanical study of the Serra d’Espadà has been carried out in order to contribute to a better knowledge of the flora and the vegetation of the place. This territory is located in the regions of Alto Palancia and Plana Baixa (Castellón) and it goes from the coast to the interior. The work is structured into several sections or chapters. In the first chapter, the previous studies and contributions to the knowledge of the flora and vegetation of the study area are briefly described. The need of this study is also shown and the aims and work plan is established. In the second chapter, the physical environment is described in more detail. The situation, the extent and the limits of the study area are shown. Additional information is given about its geological features, soil units and their relation to the type of vegetation, geomorphological units that characterize the area, rivers and wetlands that can be found, its climatic and demographic characteristics, as well as areas that are under some kind of protection. In the third chapter, the floristic study of the area and a floristic catalogue of this are provided. All the taxa that have been observed or we have references about them are listed in this catalogue. It finishes with a statistical analysis of the chorological spectrum and its life forms. In the fourth chapter, a phytosociological study of the territory is done according to the sigmatist school. Then it is made with an exposure to syntaxonomical scheme, the hierarchical description of the different vegetation units observed in the area and the contribution of phytosociological tables. Finally, the dynamics of vegetation series is analyzed and the possible evolution is shown through schemes. The botanical valuation of the territory is made and those aspects related to the conservation or protection that we believe should be carried out are discussed.
