dc.description.abstractenglish According to Nishida, the logic of subject neither allows a proper treatment of the problem of completeness nor eliminates the Cartesian anxiety. He proposes therefore its replacement by the logic of predicate, here understood as a place (basho) which, in the end, turns out to be nothingness. After considering the difficulty of translating Japanese to European languages and its ability to allow a nonsubstantive treatment of mind, a consideration is offered of the solution of those problems by the new logic.
