dc.description.abstract Firstly, this article attempts to disclose the structural differences holding between psychoanalysis and Spinoza's ontology, especially when the former is read through the teachings of Jacques Lacan. Secondly, it aims at evaluating the revisions introduced in psychoanalytic theory by Gilles Deleuze -with all its shortcomings, including its idealist strain- as a consequence of his fidelity to Spinoza's ontology.
